Rick Kephart is the Director of Research and technology at Emerson Power & Water Solutions in Pittsburgh PA. In this position, Rick is responsible for all software development and architecture design for Emerson’s Ovation distributed control system. Rick has over 26 years of experience in the design, development and engineering of distributed control systems for power and water/waste water plants. Rick began his career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Process Control Division as a field startup engineer. Westinghouse PCD was acquired by Emerson in 1998. Prior to his current role, Rick has held various engineering and management positions including field engineer, project engineer, development engineer and manager of control technology and simulators. Rick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
